The wine is going to be rocking.

How do we know? Because we're making it and 2007 is a phenomenal year for Napa Valley Cabernet with low yields and a long growing season.

Crushpad’s normal business is to make custom barrels of luxury class wines. These barrels sell anywhere from $9,600 to $13,900 each. Bailout is a blend of fruit from premier Napa vineyards in Oakville, Mt. Veeder and Pritchard Hill that routinely go into $75 to $275 wines. And we’ve busted out the fancy French oak: Taransaud, Darnajou and Seguin Moreau barrels. This is the real deal.

In addition to the Cabernet Sauvignon, we will be blending in some Malbec, Petite Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Franc to create a wine more balanced than Lehman's balance sheet. Our team of winemakers and consulting winemakers has produced numerous "big point" wines (Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate 92-96 points). We're even inviting you to participate in the blending session that will occur in the spring – either at the winery or watch it on live streaming video.

Why $39 (or $19 or $9 for that matter) for a wine that normally sells for much more? Because your spouse wouldn't let you buy it if it were more! Plus, this is a great way for us to have a bit of fun in these dour economic times. We will definitely sell out of this wine as we don't have that much available, so when it's gone, it's gone.
